The objective of the Beyond Shelter Coalition of West Side Synagogues for Permanent Housing for Low Income and Homeless New Yorkers is to increase the amount of housing and related services available to homeless persons in our community. The organizationís activities include:
. Supporting public policy and action that results in expanding the supply of housing and related services available to homeless persons in our community.
. Organizing educational programs including advocacy experts and public officials.
. Providing educational materials for synagogue members.
. Writing to and meeting with public officials to lobby on behalf of our objectives.
. Raising funds, through an annual concert, for a revolving loan fund used by non-profit operators of housing for homeless and low-income persons to renovate and repair housing properties.
Beyond Shelter Coalition is a coalition of 28 synagogues and community organizations on the West Side of Manhattan.
